Pack 840 has enrolled in the group volunteer program with Paramount Kings Island. This program is designed to help provide money for our pack, your scout and provide free tickets to your family for a return visit to Kings Island The group leader will receive available dates for volunteers to participate. The different areas you may be assigned to are foods, picnic grove, merchandise, rides, and ecology. There will be a limited numbers of slots available. This will be on a first come, first serve basis. If you volunteer to work a shift and do not show less money will be made for the pack and the other people working will not earn as many tickets. If you are unable to work please call Angie Shockley at 384-0870 and she will try to find a replacement. Each time you volunteer the pack will receive $5.50 per hour for every hour worked if everyone shows and works all Scheduled hours the pack will receive $6.00 per hour.
The program has changed a bit this year.
They no longer give two tickets to everyone that volunteers. We now only receive 2 tickets for every five people that work. All volunteers names will be put in a hat and two names will be drawn. Those two people will each receive one of the tickets. We will draw the names while all are present to avoid confusion. For every completed shift you work your Scout will receive half of what you earn in their scout account (the other half goes to the pack general fund).
It takes about three weeks to receive the packs check and tickets. If you are interested in participating, please let your den leader know and they will have you added to a list.
Our first date is 8/18/07 at 2:00pm. I have a call in to PKI to see when the shift ends and will notify all as soon as I know. We have five slots available for this shift so please let me know if you would like to work.
