-
Sue called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
-
Sue began a discussion regarding hairstyle and dress code within
scouts. Sue checked into it, contacted Council and there is no
regulation regarding hairstyle.
-
Angie suggested we let the scouts skate for free. The price the Pack
pays covers skate rental. The families will still be charged. It passed
unanimously.
-
Angie suggested parents volunteer to wrap at Borders Books for
donations and the Pack uses the money to let the scouts purchase toys
for Toys for Tots. A discussion followed. A compromise was reached
where families can choose to either donate money toward the gifts or
work a shift to help pay for the gifts.
-
Angie asked if scouts could make 169 Christmas cards for the residents
of Walnut Creek Nursing Home. Each Den could make 25.
-
Angie said Basketball concession dates have been posted; Fridays 6-9
and Saturdays 9-3, starting Dec. 8th and ending toward the end of
February. Angie will send a sign-up sheet out. Each scout earns $2.50
in their scout account for each shift worked by their
parent/representative.
-
Susan will get financial statement out soon.
-
Tammy said in January Perfect North will have skiing again for the
scouts. Everyone said that the boys who went last year had a great
time.
-
Tammy asked if we wanted to do Globetrotters again. It’s earlier
in the afternoon on Sunday, Dec. 31st. The boys get a patch and they do
something special for the scouts. It was decided to go ahead and offer
them the opportunity to go.
-
Mike Berenson said that January 13th is a tentative date for training
for New Leader and Essentials.
-
Karl suggested the scouts stay inside following meetings until picked
up for safety reasons. Everyone agreed. An announcement will be made at
the next Pack meeting and in the newsletter.
-
Mark asked if the songs for the caroling could be typed up. Susan said
she’d put songs together and make copies.
-
Mike is trying to come up with by-laws for us to follow to create our
own Pack by-laws. Karl will share a handbook he has for suggestions on
creating Pack by-laws and a parent handbook.
-
It was discussed that the Pack should probably carry Directors and
Officers insurance to protect the committee members from litigation.
Safeguards should be in place to protect the Pack as well as the
members. There should be better checks and balances, especially where
money is concerned. This protects the scouts as well as the
leaders/members. It was tabled until Angie checks into the insurance
company for PTO to get a quote and we talk to Lisa.
-
It was discussed whether a link could be added to the website to the
Autism Society because there’s a scout in Den 5 with Autism.
It’s to increase awareness and give parents access to information
in the event that they’re curious. Everyone agreed it was a good
thing to do and Sue will check on having that added. If other boys join
the Pack with different disabilities, links could be added for them as
well
-
Meeting adjourned 8:12 PM

-
Sat the 28th we’ll be at Kmart in Springboro on rt 73.
-
Two of our boys have found mystery houses.
-
Karl talked about the guidelines for scholarships. Boys have to deplete
Scout account first. If they aren’t doing any fundraisers suggest
they do. They won’t be forced, though. Not necessary to go to
committee with the names. Main usage of scholarships has been for
registration. Usually parents go to leaders than go to Lisa or Susan.
Suggestion was made to have a core group of officers decide who gets
scholarships. Bradley made a motion to keep it as it is. Sue seconded.
Motion was passed.
-
It was suggested to have the dens take care of the openings and
closings at the den meetings. Dens can handle this however they want
(please do the pledge, though). Sue asked for motion. Lisa seconded.
Passed unanimously. Tigers will start this off on November 7th.
-
Cost issues: suggestion was made to find lower cost activities or have
fewer activities. It was pointed out that Angie and Tammy do a great
job. Just have up or down vote on each activity next year.
-
Volunteer board will be up again this pack meeting.
- Angie suggested doing Toys for Tots this year
instead of adopting a family. Vote was unanimous. She will get more
information.
-
Suggestion was made to reverse the colors on the t-shirts and
sweatshirts because they show less dirt. Lisa mentioned that those
colors were picked because the boys stood out. Lisa will check with
Skeltons to make one shirt to show committee next month. Decision will
be made then. Lisa did point out that we still have a decent inventory
of the yellow.
-
The picture contract was given to Jason Newman’s company. Both
companies submitted similar proposals. Bradley said we should go with
one of our own. Passed unanimously.
-
Bomber’s money due Friday.
-
We will show pack video at November pack meeting during the care
packages. Lisa is to get projector and screen from the school. Karl
would like a picture with the boys’ names on it so he can learn
them.

Andrew.
-

being two weeks before and event that is out of county. Whomever is in
charge of the event must put this in. amendments to it can be made
afterwards.
-
Suggestion was made for pack to pay all training for leaders. Todd
motioned. Sue seconded. Passed unanimously. It will start from this
date on.
-
For next derby it was suggested to have the track raised and in the
middle of the room.
-
Sue adjourned meeting.

person in attendance. We have two.
-
Todd said that Saturday’s popcorn pickup is at 8:40 in downtown.
He still needs help to load the 184+ cases. He needs someone to drive
the trailer in the afternoon. He needs help to unload and distribute at
the skating party. He plans on everyone skating for about an hour then
taking a break to rally for popcorns sales than skate again afterwards.
OSU tins are now $40 because of royalties to OSU and Michigan.
He’s trying to get the three way cheese tins that are being test
marketed. Karl will meet at the school around 3:30p to carpool to the
skating rink. Top 5 sellers will go to Laser Tag.
-
Angie said that Moraine Rotary has offered another $100 which is over
our original $1000 needed for the new track. A piece of the track was
there to show everyone. Michel suggested using the extra money to build
2 boxes for the track since it’s so heavy. Rotary asked speak at
their meeting at 7am on Tuesday. Angie is trying to get Karl or someone
else to do this. They also wanted us to sell their basketball tickets
and we’d get $1 per ticket. Bradley and Lisa had concerns because
of it interfering with popcorn sales. We declined to do it.
-
Blue and Gold food was discussed: Todd goes to church with Brian Hayden
at the Dayton Mall Chick-Fil-A. He’ll check into chicken

-
Everyone has den space on the website to put what you want.

can’t do it at this time.
-
Karl and Susan will pop popcorn for this weeks pack meeting.
-
Sue to pick up poster board and Todd or Angie to bring easels to list
volunteers.
-
No candy can be given out at the Homecoming Parade.
-
Class A’s worn will remain the tie breaker in the den attendance
award.
-
Neckerchiefs are to be worn under the collar.
-
Lisa reiterated that adults need to properly wear uniforms and wear
Class A’s all the time unless doing messy stuff. Boys should have
them on at the Pack meeting. She also reiterated that whomever is in
charge of a particular campout is in charge of taking the equipment
home and cleaning it and returning it clean and dry and if the dutch
ovens properly oiled (should be done after use at campsite).
-
Tammy said that Newport Aquarium wanted payment for all boys attending
up front. Since we don’t know whose going we decided to have a
permission form in this months newsletter that will have a date soon so
we can send a check in. Tammy will get the form to Susan by Saturday.
-
