Minutes for  February 28th Committee Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM

Meeting Minutes from last month were emailed to everyone.  Please review them at your convenience.

Renee’ asked questions regarding advancements, website, tiger cub roundup, cub scout day and resident camp, cub scout automotive safety patch.  

Todd asked a question about boxes for the track.  He also said there’s a conflict with next month’s meeting date with the church.  A location will be secured.  Popcorn payments were discussed. 

Karl clarified who the Pinewood chairman is.  Pack meeting programming was discussed.  Karl shared feedback he received from Blue & Gold. 

Angie said that the leader gifts for everyone may not be necessary, just the outgoing leaders.  Spring fundraiser was discussed.  Candy, subs, or something associated with the bike rodeo were discussed.  Then the bike rodeo was discussed.  Dave Miller wants to advertise in the Moraine Parks flier.  A fundraiser might be done during the rodeo.  Perhaps a hot dog sale?  

The Moraine Heritage festival was discussed.  Having to be there all 3 days is a deterrent.  The car wash idea is still being kicked around. 

Doug talked about Scouting for Food.  March 8th 10:00 AM, is bag distribution.  Meet at school at 9:45 AM.  Bag pick up is 10:00 AM on the 15th.  Doug asked about parent surveys.  Mandatory requirements for parent volunteers was discussed.  Parents should be required to sign up to help with at least one event per year. 

Karl commented that sign-up for Blue & Gold was much easier via email and internet.  Around 75% of the families responded in this way. 

Lisa discussed the blood drive.  November may be the date.  Lisa is checking.  Camporee is due by March 29.   Lisa discussed the ledger issues.  It was discussed that it’s a bookkeeping matter of keeping deposits and withdrawals clean in the accounting program to keep the financial report clear.   Most agreed that the budget report needs to be reviewed at the monthly committee meetings.  An annual audit was also discussed. 

Michael is bringing the saw for the next two Tuesdays to cut Pinewood Derby cars. 

Lisa read from the Scouting magazine.  Lisa discussed Pack morale.  She also discussed that recharters are down.  Todd asked if we are ready for Pinewood Derby.  

Meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM (LOST is on).
